Event warmup:

We got there early enough to do a really good swim warmup. I was one of the first people in the water- I felt really good during the warmup which helped my confidence a lot.
Swim
  • 15m 50s
  • 1000 meters
  • 01m 35s / 100 meters
Comments:

I was very happy with my swim. No panic/freak out at all. Started near the back, went really slow for the first 5 minutes, then tried to think about my form and push myself a little. I just kept telling myself I would get them on the bike and run.
What would you do differently?:

try to swim in a straight line.
Transition 1
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

Good T1, I always have a hard time getting this wetsuit over my ankles, so I end up sitting down to pull it off. Other than that, everything went smoothly.
Bike
  • 50m 25s
  • 17.5 miles
  • 20.83 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt so awesome and I passed a ton of people. My turns and cornering were great for once. I was 1st female on the bike part.
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing, I got off the bike with at big smile!
Transition 2
  • 00m 52s
Comments:

Somehow I was 14th in T2. Damn, I thought I did good:-(
Run
  • 23m 38s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt like crap the first mile- I had a stitch under my left rib that finally went away. I ran as hard and as fast as I could, maybe doing a long run yesterday took some out of me but I honestly don't think I could have gone much faster. I'm happy with the results
Post race
Warm down:

I stretched pretty well, I have a long ride to do tomorrow.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WHOO HOOO ! I was second place overall female. That's a first, and probably last, for me!

Event comments:

Really great race, super nice people who put it on, awesome lake swim, awesome bike course. We drove 3 hours to do it and it was worth it! I will definitely do this race again!

Performance: Good
Course: It was a strange run course- there were two turn around's. You ran out, came almost back to the finish line, then ran back out again before coming back to finish. I didn't mind it though because I could see where the other people were. I knew the 3rd place girl was gaining on me so it was good to be able to see where she was. I still felt like I was running for my life. When you left the transition area there was a hill you ran up (and ran down at the finish), but the rest of it was relatively flat.

I think I remember being near you at the end of the bike (only thanks to my head start on the race, being in the 1st wave). Cool Had no idea you were a fellow BTer. Congrats on a great race!
