Has anyone been to Woodside Bike Shop in downtown Apex?  After my husband and I had to cut our ride short since he flatted out, and then went through his replacement tube we swung by this bike shop on our way home to get more spare tubes.

They have a lot of BMX stuff but also work on road bikes and I just want to say that owner is awesome!  He just moved here from CA and the shop has only been opened for 6 months so the shop is young.

As soon as we walked in we were approached and immediately helped.  Chatted for awhile about everything related to biking.  We ended up ordering two 12/27 cassettes that we'll need for IM CDA.

To sum it up, we had a great experience with them.  The shop is friendly and laid back- it's the type of place that you can just walk in and sit around and talk about bike stuff all day.  I can't wait to do more business with them. They don't have a lot of road bike accessories in stock- just the basics but can order just about anything.  But I do highly recommend this shop!

I dropped in one night, months ago, during a street festival, and they weren't quite up to speed yet, but after your post, I'm going to give them another look!

Yeah- they are pretty new.  One of the guys said that they wanted to plan indoor trainer sessions during winter time and possible start arranging group rides.  The amount of "roadie" clients is still pretty small and they are just trying to build up their business.  No doubt that they will be successful over time since the owner is pretty cool and very nice.

Yeah they are still very young. The guy yesterday said that they still aren't fully stocked yet. But they are super nice and laid back. They seem to be very knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to help.

Janelle,

How did you get from Green hope School Road to Apex on your way to your house?  It is in the opposite direction.

We parked at the gas station "Dolphinis" on the corner of 55 and Green Hope School Road- we didn't ride from our house.  So I had to ride back to the gas station to pick up the car, if that makes sense.

Not sure but it's right off of 55 by that gas station.  It might pick up again at some point in Cary??? The roads in that are are so goofy- I keep getting lost because the maps give different names than what are on the actual roads.  And a lot of roads end and randomly pick up miles later- so strange...

But yeah- Green Hope School Road is right off of 55 on the right hand side if you're coming from the 540 direction.

Janelle, y?ou're right- If you are going South on 55, at the point where Green Hope High is on your left you would take a right on Green Hope School road. The Dolphin gas station is on that corner. Keith, is there another ??G?r?e?e?n? ??H?o?p?e? ??S?c?h?o?l? ??R?o?a?d???? ??T?h?e?y? ?a?r?e? ?a?p?p?a?r?e?n?t?l?y? ?w?o?r?k?i?n?g? ?o?n? ?t?h?e? ?g?o?o?f?y? ?n?a?m?e? ?c?h?a?n?g?e?s? ??:?-??)? ????

Not as far North as, say, Canada, but yeah, about 10 miles north of downtown Apex :-)

I have been that shop once, though that was sometime back along with a friend of mine while we were on a vacation. I must say that they are indeed a good one to stop by to get you r bike checked and get it back into a good condition if at all there is some. We too had just a good experience and needless to say that the bike was in a much better state after a visit at their shop.
