July Tri Challenge scoring....

Ok...I've read and re-read the rules thread and here's how I understand Renee's scoresheet and its calculations...

Continue to think along the lines of getting 100% in each of your 3 disciplines.  At month's end, if you have gotten 100% in all 3, you get 3 points for your team.  If you achieve 100% in only 2, you get two points...all the way down to 0 points for not achieving any of your goals.

We have 10 people on our team....if everyone achieves all 3 of their goals, each person is awarded 3 points...these points are added to a total of 30 points and then divided by the # of people on the team which gives an average score...which is in this case 3 (aka Perfect Score).

Here's the rub....if at the end of the month you have 98% achievement in one of the disciplines, that counts as NOT achieving your goal and you will not get a point for that particlar sport.  There's a heck of a difference from a scoring percentage between achieving 99.9% of your goal and 100%.  Those of you that have big workouts planned for the last couple of weeks will be most affected by the current scores, but DON'T SWEAT IT.  After doing those workouts, you'll get a big boost when you log those workouts.

How muddy did I make the water with this post.  LOL!  The short of it...continue to kick ass like we have been.

Here's the Monday leaderboard.  Scores are calculated on 50% achievement since the month was 1/2 over when the #'s were generated.

1) Team Good-in10tions    1.90
2) Team Yuengling             1.80
3) Team Hoss                    1.80
4) Team Lucky Lancers     1.60
5) Team Guiness                1.60
6) Team Crazy 8's              1.60
7) Team Endless Summer   1.40
8) Team 5 alive                  1.20
9) Team Thunderbird         1.00
10) Team Coerdeleon         0.70

Hi all,
Got in a nice 43.7 miles today to improve my bike mileage.
Anyway, I made a minor modification to the spreadsheet so that when someone gets over 100% it will put 100% in the column instead of 105%, for example. Will avoid having to do it manually.
GO team!!!

How the hell do you download that spreadsheet?  I get some goofy ASP message...

And I just knocked out another 30 bike mi.  Within one bike of being DONE, that will happen MONDAY.  And I've got a 12 mi run planned for tomorrow AM.  This should put us damned close.

I updated the file here. I wasn't able to open Rennick's attachment, but had been able to open earlier ones.
I've fallen into last place!!! Yikes!! But I still have all the necessary workouts planned, and just have to make up a swim today to be fully on track. This weekend I'm biking the course of the Duke Liver HIM!!

This weekend I'm biking the course of the Duke Liver HIM!!

Tom, you will have to let me know if there are any tricky parts to navigate.  I want to ride the course soon, but don't know when I'll get a chance.  Do you have any detailed directions, or a cue sheet, or are you just using the map from Setup's website?  Enjoy the ride!

I get that stupid message when downloading from time to time.  I usually do a

right click..."Save Target As"

and if it doesn't put the correct file name in there, I type in the name myself with the right extension (.xls).  Works for me everytime.

My swim percentage just jumped from 62% to 76%.
I'm pulling the team up from the bottom baby!

I'm really excited for my bike this weekend. Planning on it early tomorrow AM. Duke Liver HIM here I come.

We are doing GREAT! After some big workout Saturdays, we now have 3 team members that have reached 100% in one of their goals (funny enough, all three are in the swim )

After today, 74% of the month is complete, and we have 7/10 team members at, or above, 74% average completion.

Here's an update as of 8:00pm today.  As a team we are 76% of the way there.

1) Rennick          bike 98%   run 88%  swim 100%   Avg: 95%
2) jkbostic           bike 84%  run 88%  swim 91%      Avg 88%
3) Rkreuser         bike 74%  run 85%  swim 100%   Avg 86%
5) HookedOnTri  bike 80%  run 77%  swim 100%  Avg: 86%
5) G8RLA94       bike 76%   run 65%  swim 90%    Avg: 77%
6) G8RSAX        bike 86%   run 65%  swim 73%     Avg: 75%
7) Wakeman       bike 86%   run 61%  swim 78%     Avg: 75%
8) BonBon          bike 69%   run 75%  swim 79%     Avg 74%
9) Tpetersen02    bike 52%   run 70%  swim 76%    Avg: 66%
10) Lara              bike 65%   run 71%  swim 54%    Avg: 63%

Our "point score" is 1.9. (But I don't think that matters any more)

I did some counter-intelligence work, and I believe we are ahead of our competition. They may have some big workouts planned though, so we can't stop now.

GO TEAM YUENGLING!

Thanks for the update Jean. I got in a run today. Actually it was two runs. First run didn't go well so I took in some calories and tried at it again a few hours later. Second time was hardly better. But at least it got me up to 83% on the run column.
Now, tomorrow comes the big bike miles!! Gotta get up early so I don't fry when the heat comes.
Good job everyone!

I'm about 7 miles shy on the bike, 12 on the run, and about 1200 on the swim.  I'm tapering a bit this upcoming week, and the bike and swim should be 100% early in the week.  The run will probably finish up on Thursday or maybe even during Sat. race.

7 days left Team Yuengling.  This is the final stretch.  Dig deep to hit those goals.  You all are putting up some impressive numbers.

Today was a big day for me. Very, very big. Biked the Duke liver HIM course... TWICE!! 107miles total. Took two small shortcuts on the 2nd loop, thus the reduced mileage.
I am beat, but it was worth it.  more later... now, i'm relaxing and taking in calories... yuengling...

Awesome work, everyone.  This weekend was HUGE in terms of the team getting after it.  I couldn't be more impressed with everyone's commitment to getting the goals done.  Keep after it, we're in the home stretch!!!

Have a fantastic week, everyone
