My best open water swim. Course was narrow so I think that helped my sighting. I was very relaxed in the swim. I think the fact that I am not eating a big breakfast helps me.

More OWS swim practice. A group of us will start swimming at Belews Lake in a couple of weeks. We will leave from the downtown Y and get to the lake about daybreak. back to the YMCA by 7:00

Warm down:

walked around and ate a hot dog. Talked to my daughter, Elizabeth, and her dog. I am glad they were there

Event comments:

Great local race-first year. They had a few kinks like no water at the finish line. Also, the lake is a little muddy but there is not much they can do about that.

Great race! Water was behind the chip tent as you walked through. Sorry you missed it.

Good seeing you John.

I was pretty happy with my swim split as well. I enjoy swimming in smaller lakes/ponds, it really helps you to stay on course when you have the shore to keep you in line.

Nice race john! You're right about those hills! I ride around Hagenstone all the time and they are there. The first one after you turn out of the park is a doozy! We ALL need more OWS practice. Way to go!
