Ooooh, another one.... Libary. I hate that. There's actually an archivist here who calls the room she works in the "libary". How the f can you get a Master's degree in, um, archivism (archivology? LOL) and not know that it's the library. I know she's a smart woman, but it makes her sound sooo stupid. So, I have a tendency to try to subtly correct her.

Me: Do we have the such and such book?
Her: I don't know. Let's go to the libary and check.
Me: Ok, let's go to the library.

Ooh...uppity people who feel the need to correct other people's speech! Just kidding there...I am so one of those uppity people.  It makes me cringe even when people say Feb-u-ary.

I don't emphasize it or anything. I just say it. People who directly correct people are just a tad annoying. My dad says "warsh" and "chivy" and that drives me nuts....

I took an editing class in college and learned the correct usage of 'Regardless.' Isn't it a double negative or something?? I love when people misuse it and I can correct them.

It's just not a word.

According to Merriam Webster and the OED it is a word though seriously frowned upon - I wouldn't use it:

Main Entry: ir·re·gard·less
Pronunciation: "ir-i-'gärd-l&s
Function: adverb
Etymology: probably blend of irrespective and regardless
nonstandard : REGARDLESS
usage Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.

I say feed the world's homeless with Canada Geese!!!

I guess they are not really tasty, otherwise the Chinese would have turned them into dishes years ago.

Yeah, I've heard that, but you know if you're starving..... Actually, the fact that they taste bad is just more testament to their general uselessness.

Were they really hunted to the verge of extinction because they tast bad? They are still a protected species so I haven't had the chance to taste one yet, but I would if I could .

People who don't flush should be drawn & quartered anyhow.

If it`s yellow, let it mellow.
If it`s brown, flush it down.

I know this is really strange but I hate it when the toilet paper roll is on so that the paper is pulled from the back - I ALWAYS turn it around - whenever I find one like that all backwards I have to turn it around so that the paper flows over the roll! Does that make any sense at all????!!!!

husbands who don't do the honey-do-list even though it would taken them 1-2 hours to complete and then bitch when Sunday rolls around and they want to watch baseball all day and not be bothered with chores.... better yet, think their 33 week pregnant wife can power wash the house in Houston heat and humidity (not that he said or implied this but knowing my husband he was thinking this)

husbands who for whatever reason can not let the wife sleep-in atleast 1 day on the weekend while he cares for children - or better he gets up to care for the kids but then allows them to scream andfight without any regard to sleeping mom....

husbands who just don't think!!!!

Can you tell I'm having a bad day with my husband!

Maybe you can tell your kids that dad has offered to take them out to breakfast every Saturday morning from now on.

Uhhh.....my husband would die laughing if I handed him any sort of list. I do it ALL. When I was in my last trimester I helped him move a refridgerator into one of our rental units. Hope your day gets better.

I also know someone named John Thomas Jr. And, his son is John Thomas III. John Thomas Jr. and his mother were both lit majors, so I know that they know about the novel--John Thomas Jr. is a lit teacher at a Catholic girls' high school, for further amusement....

Anyone who comes in my office and says "you don't look old enough to be a doctor" or some version there of. (I hear this about 2-3 times per day)

Yeah, when I was in college I hated it when people where I worked refered to me as 'the little girl' as in 'maybe the little girl will help us'. Once when I had just had enough I pretended not to understand the reference...
