According to a Boston.com article the DCR will likely prohibit OWS beyond the designated swim area until water levels go down. The article doesn't state when they will start prohibiting OWS. Likely to be put in place before the holiday weekend which would be a bummer because I know there are a number of teams planning training sessions there this weekend. http://mobile.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2010/05/state_to_...

They have officially banned swimming outside the roped area at Walden!

ok, so what are we going to do about this? Is it time for organized civil disobedience or do we just walk, neoprene clad, past the no swimming signs like we have been for the last 4 weeks?

I've got a planned swim there Saturday at 8am - prob will be 3-4 wetsuit clad folks.  I almost want to go before the lot opens so there's less chance of an issue, but I also want to sleep in a little on Saturday... sleep wins.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Swam at Walden 6am-7 Friday morning 5/28. Had to be 50 people there swimming. Same as always for early AM parking in staff lots and on street. Only differences is water was very high, some extra debris in water near shores and there was someone in the water in a green canoe, not sure if it was a parks and rec person out there for safety. Nice swim!

Went this morning 5/29 and they had signs up saying bacteria level was high so no swimming.  I still swam (and others did too).  I will let you know in 7-10 days if I get sick Tongue out(7-10 days was the time frame DPH gave us with the water main break)

by Sunday the signs about bacteria levels were gone - I asked the life guards and they said it was referring to last week....

Swam outside the lines no problem - it says at your own risk, which I am pretty sure it always has.

Just weird that there is not beach....
