Traverse City Track Club

Sunny
Total Time = 4h 13m 37s
Overall Rank = 836/1497
Age Group = 50-55
Age Group Rank = 15/50
Pre-race routine:

Got up really early, probably around 4:45. Had my normal yogurt/cereal mix and coffee.
Event warmup:

Drove to the event. Was able to park in my favorite lot (Cherry) and finished my coffee. Strolled to the porta potty 2 times before the lines got too long.
Run
  • 4h 13m 37s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 09m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

The temps were in the 60's at the start and the 80's at the end. So I really suffered in the heat. Had trouble keeping liquids down.
What would you do differently?:

Take the initial miles slower.
Post race
Warm down:

Recoverite (I swear by it). When I got back to the cottage I waded into Long Lake to ice my legs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I really couldn't run in the heat.

Event comments:

I really like this event. I just didn't perform as good as I could have. Can I have a do-over?

Given that you had heat from Satan, you did great, Janet!!!  Too funny about thinking this was your last and now you're scheming for the next... probably because we'll never reach perfection, but we keep on trying!!

Janet! You did amazing! No do overs, well until next year because you did great! We are all our own worst critics but you are very fast and you made excellent time even with the heat!!!!!
