how did you come up with 16.9 miles because i am almost positive that is incorrect?

plugging in my time listed and the speed they listed it was 18.6 (last year's posted distance) but i am almost positive that is wrong as well.

if it was 17.5 i was doing 21 mph which is about right.

who had a computer on this?

I had seen it posted earlier.  Also, the biker on our relay team had 16.9 on her computer when she got back.

I am pretty sure my swim and bike were faster than last year and run was about the same.  i had slower transitions but the run out/in for the bike was longer and i am new at the wetsuit thing.

my race time  was 6 min 24 sec faster than last year.  what was the distance on the bike this year?

on map my run I estimate it to be about 17.5  - i had no computer

oh - and how long was it really last year.  race reports have it 18.6 to 18.9 miles but maybe it was less.  was it the same route

I'll double check the distance tonight but the route was not the same as last year. Last year they had to take us a different route due to the construction at the intersection of Lewis Center and Old State. That route was 18.6 much longer.

Two years ago my distance was 17.2 which was the same route. 16.9-17 should be about right.

I don't have my times... I did the bike in about 50 and the run somewhere in the 24-25 range. My wife said the swim was around 14 so that puts me at about 1:34 I would guess.

I was really excited about my average speed on the bike until I realized they'd calculated them wrong!  Seems they used the 30K distance from last year to calc the speeds.  According to both the race site and google maps, the course was 17 miles long.  My wife and I also train on this course a lot, and that seems pretty close to the Garmin readings we've gotten.

Horrible start for me as I blew a tire riding into the park at 6am!  The Tri-Tech folks fixed me up in no time, though, saving my race.  This was only my third tri, so I'm still learning things like "bring a spare tube and CO2 cartridges".  :-)

My computer had the bike at 17.1 too.

I signed up for this one at the last minute just to have fun, and did.  I swam way off course a couple of times, so that's something I need to work on.  I would have liked to see some more hills on the bike course, but there's not much you can do about geography.  Came out MOP (21/50) in my AG, which isn't bad for my first year, but there's definitely room for improvement here!

Brue does not know how to ride his bike correctly and does not ride it often enough.

I was 16th / 465 in the swim, 12 of 465 in the Run and 12th and 7th in T1 & 2 so why am I not winning?

BIKE: SIXTY - NINTH

It is not the overall placement that I am worried about - it is the disparity between my fitness level and performance in one area.

I know what I need to work on.  Next tri isn't until June 12th so I have time.  I will improve in this area - it is my singular goal.  (without getting hurt or slower in other areas)
