Hey all, I just went out and bought the VFF KSO's.  I had to go with the blue camo, of course.  For those that have transitioned, how long did it take for you to get to the point where they are your primary running shoe?  How did you break yourself into running in them?

Thanks, and happy Memorial Day to you all.

I had no problem with the VFF as I already ran using this form. I never intended for the VFF to be my everyday shoe. I run in them 6-8 miles/week as a tool for helping keep good form. All my other running is done in my regular training shoes.

I run in VFF's 100% of the time.  I also transitioned from "regular" running shoes to racing flats to VFF's.  My calves and achilles did ok but my feet took some adjustment time.  VFF's didn't blister my feet but no padding on the bottom make for some rubbing etc that my feet had to get used to.  Even now on really long runs the bottom of my big toe will feel like it wants to blister.  I might start alternating between the flats again

I run 100% of the time in them.  I started in August.  I've had a very slow transition.  Still at about 45 minute max long run.  Calves/achilles are the primary limiter.  Blistering is also a lingering issue.

Start slow.  Like 5 or 10 minutes at a time.  If you find your body tolerates that, then go to 15 minutes..  After thats no problem, build again to 20.  Listen to your body.  It will tell you when its ready to go longer.

I did a four 35 mile weeks ending with a marathon and then four 70 mile weeks ending with a 31 mile race for my transition and have not had any problems.

But would recommend a slow transition to the VFF.

Do as I say, not has I do.
