Subject: Gel Packs
When I am biking I usually carry some gel packs with me to keep my energy level up. However I am doing my first tri in a couple of weeks and can't think of a way to carry the gel packs with me. See I will not be wearing a shirt, more than likely. So there is no place for the gel packs on my bike. Any suggestions?

Chris

Tape them to the bike

Tuck them under tri or cycling shorts

froogle 'bento box bike'

it's great for long distance rides when you don't want to stop.

Gu sells a gel holder that can go on your Tri Belt. I have had one for a few years now. They can hold two packs comfortably or 4 if you don't mind a little stuffing and buldging. These things save me on a long run.

I take a piece of electrical tape and tape the top part of the gu packet to my frame. Then as I'm riding I can just rip the packet off and its already opened for me. and electrical tape is awesome too because you can remove it without messing up your bike's paint or leaving it all sticky & stuff.

I use this Gu flask and holder that attaches to your stem, seat post, or top tube. Holds 3-4 gels plus a little water to make it all flow better.http://www.trisports.com/gubikmounand.html

I have a 'Trans It' on my bike. Nice and thin, fits nicely behind the stem and holds about 5 powerbars or tons of gels. I usually put a few Fig bars and my cell phone in it.

I tend to forget to eat on my rides so I tape them to my stem with electrical tape.  Stack at least 3-4 and turn over one of the ends of the tape so it makes it easier to remove.  Works like a charm!

I'm with Awol, Bento box has a few sizes to choose from. It it's just for a few gels, you may want to go with the small size. It also gives you a place to store a few more items if you need them.

Be careful if you're going to tuck or safety pin to the inside of clothing. I did that once in a marathon and by mile 9 the foil packet cut my skin to the point of bleeding.

My brother keeps them under his hat on a run.
