I have done it a few times, very well run and organized. Swim has some weeds in the water but a nice small beach start and finish up to transistion. Bike course is hilly but very scenic out towards the Monterey area. Run is cool, it goes around the golf course and through Sandy Pines to the finish. I highly recomend this race.

I really like this race....nothing flashy about the course...but the event is well run and the volunteers and support on the run is great going through the campground there.  Like Sherm said..the bike course can be challenging adding in some wind that they usually get...there was only 1 person I think that was under an hour on the bike last year..and he is now a pro.  The field is usually very competitive and will probably draw even more people since it is a MERCRS race this year.  I will be there.

That was an organized race.   No doubt it was full of FAST people.  Ryan,  Congrats on your 4th AG finish and I assume qualifying.  I was way back in my AG standings.  But still felt like I was in the thick of it.

Hey thanks.

The swim started out good until I hit the stretch back towards the beach and could not see anything with the sun.  I was about 30 yards right of that last buoy and then got on the feet of the wrong person who took me way left so I zigzagged my way in.  Then I just did not push the bike hard enough but I like that bike course...especially tough adding in that wind...small ring on a downhill into the wind about sums it up.  The heat and humidity stayed away which was nice.  I was looking to be a bit faster at this race so it was definitely not the result I was hoping for but it was still fun.  I will do a race report here after I stop sulking .

Volunteers were good and well organized as you mentioned.  I will probably be back every year.  Definitely a competitive field which I like.
