That was about my most perfect tri weather.  Not too cool, but cloudy.  The drizzle didn't bother me a bit.

I reverted on my swimming progress - ha ha.   The group was a little big for my taste and I had trouble getting into a rhythm with my breathing.  Sorted that out about 1/2 way through and brought it home, but wasn't feeling to happy.  The bike and run were good, though.

I can't believe I am going to stay this... but I actually really liked this race.  I'm pretty sure I'll sign up next year, especially if I can catch the 1/2 price deal.

Medals... I had some tougher challengers in the Athena division than planned and brought home 3rd.  I saw Jim/Birkie take one home, was it 2nd?, in the elite division.    I also caught someone named Jared taking a medal - was that our Jared?

How'd everyone else do?

Yup, it was indeed 2nd in 25-29...

I saw Jim get his medal, and introduced myself after that, but didn't see you/hear your name (I was kinda busy with watching the 4 kids though so I was a bit distracted ).

Jeff (jvanis) passed me on the bike but I reeled him back in on the run;-P

That was a pretty fun race and the weather was definitely good for it. I'm thinking I'll do that one again in the future.

Nice day today, loads of people.  It's a fun course and once again the bike portion was really well managed.

Good job to everyone who finished on the podium and to those who just finished!

Overall I thought the race was much better this year than last.  The run logistics were a bit better (not having you run right past the pavilion this year.  It took me forever to settle in off the swim, I chased Jared for about 8 miles on the bike knowing that he would outrun me and he did.  Good race, good weather, good times!

In terms of the run, how about that nice little climb on mile 1?  That was fun...just starting to get the HR under control and a smooth pace...then BAM.  :D

mmmmmm....not sure pre-race favorite Scott Penticoff would agree...although racers are responsible for knowing the course he was not given good directions at one intersection and he went straight instead of left at one and no one said anything to him.  He wasted about 2.5 miles.  So, my 3rd place overall prolly would have been a 4th place.  Despite all of that...I really did like this course.  Lets hope the results get posted without issues.  Congrats everyone.

Yikes.  That is very unfortunate and I'm sorry to hear that.  All the turns seemed to well stocked with volunteers and there was ample police presence at the intersections requiring it.

One of these days I'll be fast enough to be in the position of people on the bike course not being ready.

That is a bummer!  I can see this sort of volunteer not even noticing if someone went the wrong way, or being too shy to do anything about it.

Well, that's good to know!  I thought I ran faster than usual and was disappointed in my time.  Makes a LOT more sense...

I hear ya...now I can say I ran a sub-8 pace.

Congrats on the hardware Emily.  Would've loved to stick around, but had to head out to catch my daughter's sectional meet (in the rain...the rest of the day).  We really got lucky with the weather...

I now know what happens when you don't get your timing chip removed and decide to walk back into the transition area.  My bike time got recorded AGAIN, but at an hour something rather than 40 minutes.  My final time still recorded correctly.  Life lessons.

Good to know that the run was a bit longer, was gonna say I think they extended it a bit from last year, looks like they over compensated a little, but good to know.

Nice, that means I was only ~5sec per mile off of my goal pace! - That's more inline with the training numbers I had previously seen:-)
