Well, this triathlon will be too close to IMKY for me to win race .

I highly recommend it, as it's low key and challenging...I've coaxed my wife into giving it a try. It'll be her first! I'm SUPER excited for her!

So you gonna be race support or gonna run it as well?

You still owe me a rematch from 2 years ago since last year was flooded out.

OHHHH, you're sounding real cocky off your 2AG win at Blalock Lakes this past weekend!

Rematch won't happen this year...DLCT is less than two weeks after IMKY. I won't be recovered in enough time to fullfill my destiny and destroy all the competition race you properly.

I'll be race support for my lovely wife...it'll be her first!

I had planned on doing this last year as my first Tri. I guess I will do it this year as a sort of closing to my first season.

I have never done a triathlon in my life and just started training about a month ago, but I will be there for this race.  I just saw online that this is a reverse order sprint tri.  Is this right?  I would love to know any tips or advice that you have if you have done this race before.  I am so excited to do my first one and I have become addicted to the exercise bug and have already started plannign my next race(s).

I was considering this one to end the year with but didn't realize it was reverse order.  Not sure about that.   Do they have you swim all the distance in one lane, snake through all lanes, etc?  Have done a pool swim sprint before and it was a time trial start so not much congestion in the lanes.

I am not sure about the reverse order thing.  I haven't seen that on any websites, but I saw it on a brochure.  I guess I will do some more investigating.  I am worried about it if that is the case because swimming is the toughest for me and I imagine that doing that at the end will be rough.

This is an awesome race and great for both newbies and AG racers. Its at the Boundary Waters Aquatic Center which is a triathlete mecca for training in West Georgia.  The race is a reverse order run, bike, swim...If you blink, you will miss the swim at the end its so short....This race is the way triathlon used to be.....Its a sprint down the grass with everyone else and see who wins.  The run is on a grass trail.  The bike is on the road with some pretty steep hills in the beginning.  No fancy sponsers, lots of mountain bikes, people walking the hills on the bike...the swim is in a pool, back and forth under the lane lines from one end to the other.
Here is what is truely great about this race...Big happy accomplished smiles of newbies for whom just doing it means something big.  A lot of folks will only do this one little race in their whole lives and brag about the time they did a triathlon as if they won Kona.  You can feel in the crowd that this race is not about Cervelo, heart rates and qualifying...This race is just about the joy and fun of doing a triathlon....I will be there this year...fresh from spending a week long bender in vegas...I may even leave my tri bike at home and ride my hybrid like I did two years ago when I was the newbie....Either way, I will be at the finish with cold beer and snacks because this race really is the end of the season and for a few newbies this ,may be the first day they fell in love with triathlons....

So like what has already been said, it is a casual race and a nice one to get your feet wet.

The reverse order is actually kind-of fun, especially the pool swim at the end because by the time you get to there, the race is spread out so you aren't climbing over others.  Given that it is a 25 yard pool as well, there is comfort in the fact that there are lane lines and walls to grab just in case....

If it was the same as 2 years ago (last year cancelled due to the course being flooded), packet pu was the morning of at the pool.  With 162 participants 2 years ago, it was a snap and took about 5 minutes

Can someone provide the bike route?  I didn't see it on the website or the flyer.   I checked mapmyride.com but didn't see the route posted there, either.  Thanks!
