Pre-race routine:

Infinit Clyd, bananna, water, gu with caffene. Long drive to race site.
Event warmup:

Went for a five minute ride and swam a bit to get used to the cold water.
Swim
  • 10m 13s
  • 587 yards
  • 01m 44s / 100 yards
Comments:

Seeded myself on the left near the front. Went out very easy and waited for some fast feet to come by to hook up with. Drafted for a while but not nearly as much as I wanted to. Had a lot of problems drifting to the left. Bad job of sighting ahead.
What would you do differently?:

Not too much...definately suffering in the swim fitness area. Can't complain too much as I am pretty sure I came out near the top of my AG.
Transition 1
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Wicked good transition. No picnic.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 28m 31s
  • 10.2 miles
  • 21.46 mile/hr
Comments:

Best bike ever. Really happy with the bike portion of this race. Managed to keep power and speed up the entire ride. Unfortunately the no passing zone was a great opportunity for competition to catch right up. Hard to pass on the roads as some in the waves ahead were riding two to three across. Lots of vehicular traffic on the road. Wheels and bike were fantastic. No problems...
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 2
  • 00m 46s
Run
  • 24m 35s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 07m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Lost it on the run...again. 1st and 2nd passed me toward the end of mile 2. I had nothing left to go with them. Too heavy to stay with the taller guys.
What would you do differently?:

Can't think of anything that would have made a difference.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight. I need to drop it or this is the plateau I will be stuck on for good.

Event comments:

Decent job for a first year event. Probably will not come back. The bike and part of the run course were jammed with traffic. A couple of drivers were pretty rude. Nothing the RD could do about it...venue is pretty but not really great for a tri (IMO).

VM that say's it all, especially the venue thing. I played ambassador for the sport...I helped a very cute "closed out " do the race.  Turned into a nice training pace but no trophy ....AG diff
