Event warmup:

1.8 miles on the run course
Swim
  • 27m 13s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 40s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was never able to get a draft off anyone, so I am pleased with the pace that I was able to maintain today as it definately felt longer than this
What would you do differently?:

place myself differently in the wave to get a better chance for a draft
Transition 1
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

From what I can tell, I had the 7th or 8th fastest T1
Bike
  • 1h 05m 2s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 22.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Pretty happy with the bike, lots of hills and I was never able to really settle into a rythm, besides the rythm of gear changes!
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Comments:

6th fastest T2
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 42m 13s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

felt really good until the turnaround, with the exception of my quads burning with agony which made me want to walk SO BAD, but I never gave into the mental pressure. After the turnaround I couldn't keep my speed up until the final 1.2 miles which I ran at a 6:10 pace
What would you do differently?:

continue to do weekly speedwork and get the speed up
Post race
Warm down:

collapsed at the finish line

Event comments:

I ended up setting a Oly PR by almost 12 minutes, so I can't complain too much!

Sweet!  Nice race!  Is the last mile of the run the BEST.  I wonder how many folks take headers down the woodchips, because I always feel like I'm flying.  Awesome job out there!  It was a pleasure to meet you.
