  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

swim time was surprising standing up from the water (24:30 range). I walked in once I could not swim anymore.
What would you do differently?:

run out of the water
Transition 1
  • 03m 22s
Comments:

had to sit down to take off suit. Really hate that really long transition distance. Saw TriDDS come in right behind me...wonder how long before he passes me on the bike course...
What would you do differently?:

dont sit down and get the suit off faster
Bike
  • 1h 28m 38s
  • 27.96 miles
  • 18.93 mile/hr
Comments:

had a pretty good bike. Back tightened up around mile 18 so I had to sit up for a little bit. Took it a little easy on some of the hills. TriDDS passed me after about 2.5mi around MM hill...
What would you do differently?:

attack the hills better. Strengthen my lower back more so that I can stay down in the drops more
Transition 2
  • 02m 4s
Comments:

caught the tire of someone on the end of the rack. No other issues.
What would you do differently?:

dont run into anyone...
Run
  • 57m 31s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

forgot to turn my GPS on at start of race and then realized my battery was low...died on me around 2.5 miles...just tried to keep moving and maintain a solid heartrate. DId not take any drinks on the run due to the issues I had last year. Also forgot gels....
What would you do differently?:

charge the GPS...attack a little harder. Need to do more longer runs and bricks... the run always does me in...drink a little and remember gels!
Post race
Warm down:

walked around and talked to other participants. Had a few beers with AJOtto and others

What limited your ability to perform faster:

more time doing bricks. Travel at inopportune times definitely impacted my training.
