On Saturday night, I sat down with my calendar, my schedule and my training information to formulate a comprehensive training plan for the next 17 weeks until my 1/2 IM.

I think it took me about 3 and a half hours--at least I think so. It took me all of School of Rock and most of S.W.A.T!! I had no idea that it would be so... time-consuming! Is it just me?? Am I doing something wrong??

But you know how it is when you start obsessing... I couldn't let it go! But it's done and I'm pretty excited, and only a bit terrified. I'm not sure if I'll have time to work and go to school. Maybe I'll have to quit...

Oh that's right! I have to PAY for the triathlons (and the equipment, and the nutrition, and the...) Oh, what lives we lead!

Isn't that the truth! We need to quit our jobs and other activities so we can just do triathlons and spend time with family! Ah, the dream world!

Congrats on putting together your training plan!

I don't write out a complete schedual from the beginning. Too much can change during the time leading up to the tri. I set a few major goals I want to hit ever month or so. I want to ride my bike three hours straight by may 15, I want to swim the full distance by the end of the month. I then write a total schedual for a week or two and add to it based on how things are going and where I need to be. If I get sick, or things are going really good, I adjust the schedual.
Good luck with your Half.

yes, i do the same thing...trying to get that perfect schedule assuming the rest of life stays as its planned (not).  about the work and school, can u get up really really early?  only way im trying to do it...forget after work and school...stuff just comes up.

hope your plan goes well.  plan in some 'what if' days where you can do the switcheroo if u have to miss a day.
