Awfully hot this time. I'm curious/afraid to see what July brings us.

How did you calculate 3.68 miles? Garmin? If so, I'm adding that extra .08 to my log.

Hi, yes it was crazy hot! My garmin recorded 3.68 so that's what I went with. My time on these keeps getting slower and slower!

I wouldn't worry much about comparing these runs from one to the next, given the changing conditions, changing course, and tidal variations. I estimate that I lost at least 45 seconds this time because the final beach buoy was so much farther out than in May. Consequently, my time was 30 seconds slower, but my overall finish percentile was 8% higher.

ETA: I helped set up the course last July. When we were putting in the course markers in the mangrove/water segment we had to re-route into deeper water because of some overgrowth. After putting in the stakes, the RD looked it over and said "Looks like no course records today" and then chuckled. When the bacteria count in the water was elevated last year and they took out the water sections, he just added some more hill repeats to make up the difference.
