Subject: RE: Heat acclimation I think a key point is when you are acclimated to the heat, your sweat has fewer electrolytes. Back in the 70's my HS cross country team did summer runs every day, with some runs up to 20 miles. We were instructed NOT to drink until after the runs, which today seems crazy. Back then, my family did not have AC and I think I was very well adjusted to the heat. I've often wondered if having AC makes it more difficult to adjust to exercising in the heat. Personally, I do a lot of my training runs at lunch time in the heat of the day. I'm definitely much faster on cooler days. My records for running are -19F for cold and 110F for hot (not for very long ). Edited by nickster 2010-06-14 7:14 PM
