Subject: 1ST Time
Hey everyone....First I want to say that I have learned some great things on this site from the members....

I am a 35 yoa who woke up, looked in a mirror, and freaked out....WHAT HAPPENED...HAAA...I work in law enforcement, and trust me it was'nt donuts. Haaaaaa...But seriously....I have been weight training in a gym for the past year, and also cardio training approximately 5 days a week, but could not lose the yokahamma tire around the middle....

So I got on a nutrition program, and have just started seeing results...Anyway....I was taking a spinning class and the instructor said that only the best athlete can complete a triathalon...This I believed.....

When I went to work the following day, I told the other fellow officers of the statement, and subsequently was challenged to complete a triathalon. I was told that there is NOOOOOOO way I can finish one. So, I picked a triathalon in May of 2006 which consists of a 1/2 mile swim, 15 mile bike ride, and and a 5K run. Furthermore, I joined a bike club, swim club, and I'm using the couch to 5K program on this site for my running training.

Well, I know this is long winded, but just wanted to say hi, and thank all the members which provide advise and motivation on this site.....I'm sure I will have many questions in the near future......

welcome to the club of tri`ers. Keep up the good work, sounds like you have made a great goal for next year! You may even surprize yourself and do another sprint tri before then.

Welcome and good luck in your training. And remember, even the worst day on a bike is better than a great day off the bike.

Dude welcome but if only the best athletes can complete a triathlon then I am in serious trouble! : )

I went to my 20th HS reunion a couple years ago. I was worried cause I felt I looked so old then I walked in and the room was FILLED with middle age people who all looked like the parents of my classmates.
