Subject: Want to try Zoot shoes - where around Bmore/online?
Just ripped up my feet with blisters w/o socks and my new Nike racing flats weren't great w/o them in my last race either.  I'd like to try Zoots.  Anyone know a place local to Bmore to try them?  I'd go for online too if they let you try them for a bit/have a good return policy in case I get my size wrong (Nike lets you do this).  I've been to Falls Road running store and they had one style, the lowest one, in limited sizes.  I'd be looking for the racing model.

Thanks!

Check directly with Zoot.  And if I'm not mistake, bryancd has a friend code to get a discount.

I know Roadrunner Sports off of Rt. 175 used to carry them but I don't think they do anymore.

Thanks.  Not much listed on their site for dealers in MD, I'll check with roadrunner though.  Some online places will let you try for 30 days and return, some it has to be in unused condition (this is Zoot's policy) so I'm just worried I get them, try them for 5 miles, hate them and cant return.  I'm spoiled I guess since all my other shoes have been Nikes and I've had a 30 try out period, may just need to bite the bullet though.

Thanks for the tip on the coupon too.

I'm still running in the first year models that I bought (I only use them for racing).  I have the race Yangtzee model and the Ultra TT model.

If I race this weekend you can check out the race model in person.

What size foot?

Road Phoenix - I was excited they did the fit guarantee and went ahead and ordered the two I was interested in, the Ultra race 2.0 and ultra speed from Roadrunner online.   Thanks for the offer though, might check them out anyway if you're there Sunday.  I got 11.5s.

CJ - Will do.  Didn't call the Columbia store cause its just more convenient for me to get shipped with free shipping (and 10% off with a $2 membership), and you can return to the store if they don't work out.  They'll do a refund if they're in new condition (he explained on the phone that a test run or 2 would be OK) within 30 days or exchange for different size/model shoe if you've used them a bunch and its within 60 days.  So I figured worst case is I end up with another pair on Nikes, which I know I like anyway.  Seemed like a safe bet to me.

What size shoe do you wear for work/street shoes?  And what size for running?

You should have ordered the Zoot size in what you normally wear for every day stuff.

ie - I wear 10.5 in my street shoes and 11 in my Saucony's.  I bought 10.5 for my Zoots and they fit perfectly sans socks.

I've worn them all the way up to marathons (I wore socks for those obviously) with no real issues.

haha, I'm the opposite I think, I'm 11.5-12 in everyday sneakers/shoes (prefer a little looser) and 11.5 in my running shoes (Nike).   The website said they run a little small, so I figured an 11.5 without socks would be perfect.

Joe bring them to the race on Sunday if you remember.  I wouldn't mine just picking them up to see the weight difference.  I was looking for a nice racing flat to wear for some of the short distance races that I race.

See you guys sunday If I don't talk to you before hand.

FWIW, I use the Ultra Race (first edition) and love them. I put some baby powder in them prior to running sockless and rarely have an issue. Used them at the Marine Corps Marathon last year and had no issues over 26.2 (well, issues, but none related to feet/shoes). I'm trying to get the 2.0s for a good price now....
