Event warmup:

I got in the pool aroiund 7:15 and started to swim around. Wanted to get a good feel for the pool temperature and warm up a bit.
Swim
  • 04m 11s
  • 273 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

I have definitely got to hit the water more!
Transition 1
  • 00m 57s
Comments:

This was a trial run for me. I wanted to see what a flying start would be like and I think I prefer. Grabbing my bike with my shoes already clipped in made things go a bit smoother. I don't really remember any problems which I suppose is a good thing. I also didn't put on any socks. This proved to be okay as well.
Bike
  • 43m 12s
  • 13.88 miles
  • 19.28 mile/hr
Comments:

The course was a bit confusing to me as I didn't know when I had made the final turn and was on my way back in. I can remember thinking to myself that I didn't remember so many people passing me in the pool and being ahead of me on the swim. I kept saying to myself that I was only a short distance away from turning around and heading back to transition and also thinking that this was going to be the longest "14" miles I had ever rode.
What would you do differently?:

Definitely go up prior to the race and ride the course. Right now, I feel as though this is where I stand to make the most improvement in the three disciplines.
Transition 2
  • 02m 6s
What would you do differently?:

I took way too much time to do all of this.
Run
  • 27m 34s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

They had HEED and man did that ever make a difference for me. I could kick myself in the butt for not sucking in that Gu Gel I put in my tri-suit when I got on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

My run fitness was better than at Wood Lake but I've still got to get more serious about it. Thankfully, I've got a 20 week HIM plan that I'm about to start in a few days!
