Hey Phat,

I thought there was a link to your fundraising page?  Could you post it?  I can't be the only one who needs to do something good to offset my bad karma.

I am posting this not to beg for $ but to help raise awareness for what is a tragic situation. Loads of folks are dying on the transplant lists while plenty of good organs go in a wood box. Donate $ if you wish, but I am more interested in all of you and your peeps' organs being shared upon your death! Get the word out on fb status, twitter, whatev!

My Dad was number one on the regional lung list the week before Memorial Day 2010 and died before a lung came his way. I am riding in his honor and I am so glad there will be some of you all with me, doing his memory justice.

To be honest I just signed up b/c it looked fun but I'm glad about the charity.  One of my best friends from college just had a heart transplant 3 weeks ago at UAB and she's doing great (32 yrs old).  So it hits home a lot more how organ donation can save a life

That's a great way to get the awareness out Phat...Hard to miss it on the back of that jersey!

Hey, if I'm doing the 100-miler and want to ride with some of you Tri guys/girls who know the way, how can we meet up?  (I plan to join you for a brick run at the end, too.)

I hope to get there nice and early (I live right off Holcomb Bridge, so it's simple for me to get there.) I will be on a yellow Cannondale Trisport.  There aren't too many yellow bikes around, so hopefully one of you guys will spot me and welcome a relative newbie to join you.

And don't be scared by the "newbie" title, I should be able to hang with ya. From what I gather it would be smart to be up front to avoid the logjam I hear that happens when we get off Exit 6.

See you in the morning.

Wow.. Fun times.  I'm beat.  The hill and Mountain Park was killer as the neighborhood after it and Old Alabama at the end just topped it off.  Fun time for sure

WOW! That was an insane course. I picked a doozy for my first Century. Phat and Coldfire tried to drag me along with them, but I just couldn't hang on the hills. You guys are maniacs! Great ride... I forced myself to push it harder than I ever have. I'm beat, but it was worth it!

MikeyBB rocked the house on his first century and even ran a couple of miles after in the nasty unshaded parking lot. Well done man!

Great seeing the Mrs of the Brown Dogs. Sorry about your flats Doug. Wish we would have connected!

Coldfire gets the award for putting up with me whining the whole time. Great time, and even didn't mind getting lost. Thats largely because we busted up the peloton beforehand!

Sorry I missed you Phat.

I've never double flatted before, and I learned to bring two tubes and two CO2's today.  Big thanks to Matt Russ of the Sports Factory for stopping and helping me out.

I really enjoyed the ride. Tough, but fun. That's the first time I've ever ridden mtn park. I wondered why there were rest stops so close at 42 & 55. Now I know.

Great ride everyone!

Great job Mrs Brown Dog!

Doug, sorry to hear about the two flats. That blows.

MikeB - Hardcore man, just pure hardcore. Well done yesterday. Way to hang tough, and then sack up and put those running shoes on when you really did not want to. Congrats on your first century! Way to go big.

Phat, you get a few awards......
- The Insane Award
- Do as I say, not as I do award
- I don't follow directions (e.g. pack agreements NOT to punish a peloton) award
- The best A-hole remarks to a random roadie giving us directions since we are completely lost award
- The most whining while punishing every man, woman, child, & cow in sight award
- Setting a pace that makes people want to kill themselves 42 mile into a century award

Great job to everyone out there!

Yeah, that was hard. My legs started to cook at the mile 40 climbs. I missed out on the peleton crushing as I was avoiding twitchy, wrecky riders from the start on 400, then waiting for Doug and his flats until the beach cruisers started catching up with us (sorry Doug, but we had to go at that point). It would say that it was fun letting Spengler punish me, but I would be lying, or I would say that I enjoyed the T-run after, but that would be a lie also. Really though it was an epic ride.
Nice job to all the finishers!

Anyone know who was the course photographer and where those pics might show up? No, I wasn't doing anything obscene (this time at least), just curious

This was not your typical BT.com race report and therefore it is so much better. Well done to MikeyBigBallz for hanging with coldfire and me for lots of miles! I predict big things from him in the future.
