Comments: Did it a little differently this year; tried to treat it as a training day. Last year's time trial pace was really hard to recover from and I haven't spent nearly as much time on my bike as I should in preparation for the HHH. Cut the ride to just the 100k and glad to have done it. Had a flat 10 minutes into the ride, fixed it without too much trouble. Course official had a bike pump so I didn't have to use my only CO2 cartridge. What would you do differently?: Spend more time in the Barrington hills to prepare for this ride. Get an 11/28 cassette. Did it again with my 11/25 and needed a few more teeth. Post race
Warm down: Found my EAD firends that did the race, ate a lot. drank a lot of water, soda. had a beer. Happened to be sitting at a table right next to the famous "Trixie" of BT fame. Sheepishly introduced myself and talked multi-sport event stuff for a while. She is very cool. What limited your ability to perform faster: Mental approach to the course; was not focused on time/performance this year. Maybe next year hook up with some people that are trying to race each other on the course. That would be fun. Event comments: Great, great ride as a training day or as a "race". Very challenging.
