Sunny
Total Time = 1h 43m 5s
Overall Rank = 99/228
Age Group = Clyde 40-
Age Group Rank = 30/6
Pre-race routine:

Drive to event, hydrate, frequent the rest room. Hydrate the day prior, Olive Garden.
Event warmup:

Walk from truck to body marking down the big hill, high knees, but kickers, chill for the most part.
Swim
  • 08m 51s
  • 547 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

They changed the course slightly from the Dog House Sprint, instead of a total loop that hugged the shore, this was more of a square, so it added maybe 25 to 50 yards. I got bunched up in a pack and could not get out.
What would you do differently?:

Get out of the pack so as not to get kicked in the gut rounding buoys.
Transition 1
  • 02m 24s
Comments:

The transition was very long, as the IM 70.3 was going on so instead of a 10 yd transition area it was more like 100 yard, alot more time wasted coming into and out of transition.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I beat my t1 time from May even though it was 100 yds to get out of transition.
Bike
  • 58m 54s
  • 17.6 miles
  • 17.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Took advantage of tail wind on the bike, passed quite a few, had a good dice with a guy on a Kestrel, we swapped 10 times during the race.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more.
Transition 2
  • 02m 24s
Comments:

Same long transition as above. Times do not reflect length of transition. I think my t1 would have been 1:20 and t2 about the same.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 30m 25s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

Humid, felt the dehydration
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate more
Post race
Warm down:

Massage

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fluids, humidity.
