LOL!  Maybe - it is the ultimate in pre- and post-race wear...  before you know it Potts and Macca will be hanging out after the race in sarongs too...

I'm thinking about signing up, but had a question that maybe one of you could answer...their site mentions mandatory bike/helmet inspection at a number of different locations. Do we actually have to go get our gear inspected there, obtain something that confirms we did and then bring it to the race site? I'm familiar with people checking your bike at the race site before entering transition on race day, but this sounds like something different.

Yep, different - take your bike and helmet to one of the shops listed anytime between now and race day.  They check it over and put a sticker on it.  When you check into transition, the check the helmet again, check for the sticker, and check for end caps on your handlebars.  It is standard operating procedure for one of Jack's races - my guess it has to do with insurance or liability protection...

The bike check is pretty painless. Just take your bike with you to pick up your race packet and you don't have to make any extra trips to an LBS.

I just signed up and also did the bike/helmet  check at RBM since I was there to do some gear shopping anyway.

They put an orange sticker after they have checked.

Just got the 'rain-or-shine' notice.  Should be interesting doing my first tri in the rain...Any advise from the experienced ones?  The swim shouldn't be a major deal if the wind stays as forecasted (calm); the bike portion is probably most affected, especially turns needing to be a lot more conservative; anything to watch for in the run?

Keep a pair of socks in a ziploc to keep them dry. Dry socks are great to have in T2.

Thanks!  Wasn't planning on wearing socks though (2 mile run is pretty short). Should rain change that plan?

Probably not, I have sensitive feet though, so I have to wear socks at any distance or risk blisters.
