Thanks Brett.  I thought I had created one, but I only named my team BT.  I changed it today though.  I picked a team, but I picked a Versus team and a Velogames team.  They need tweaking though.

Rocket Man - 2010-07-01 10:00 PM

I just created the Versus league. The League name is BT'ers and the password is triathlete

I'm in for both.  The Pink Ladies on vs and The Fine Nine on velogames.  No chance of winning, I'm pretty sure.

Wow! Seriously Matt. You picked Contador (only one in Velo, might I add).  That is un-American. Did you pick Ghana to win too

Intense day of racing. Cancellera crushed it as always. That dude's quads are ridiculous!!

1 down. 20 stages to go. Christmas in July!

Guess we won't be able to see each other's teams/points until July 6th in Versus? Bummer. Pretty sure I'm leading that one too!

Welcome to the real World Cup everyone!!

i like lance, best GC rider next to eddy merckx as far as im concerned but he wont beat contador. And ya cancellara is an absolute beast, a time trial machine. I think the only reason he doesnt go for the hour record is because he knows he'd win.

Game time on VS.  I did lots of adjusting today.  I hope everyone paid attention to the coverage.  Lots of hurt riders that stayed in the race, but will be worthless in the sprints and rollers.

I had lots of problems finding good climbers on teams that will give them room to go after stages.  This field is full of water carriers!  So, I went heavy on sprinters this year which was the wrong strategy last year.

Now that you are locked in...what was your strategy on picking?

i might as well quit on velogames now unless i can pull of some serious stages, I made that team first and didnt take as much though and didnt include alot of riders i really like. On VS i went sprintastic, with patachi, thor, and cav, robbie mcewen (is a beast i also pick him for making top 20 in the GC) and added thomas because of his tour de suisse success and good prologue. Several for the mountains competition and stage wins, i actually just took my first possible GC guy with ryder who replaced CVV. im last on velo and 1/2 on VS.... go figure

Just like last year, some people are running to big leads, but have no climbers or much in the way of overall contenders (ie they should score points in ITT and mountain stages).  I saw one guy in the overall had the complete top 8 or so.  Huge points now, but after Saturday, no points for a while.

Still hoping my last minute reshuffle of the line up worked.

BTW, who is associated with each team.  Since Brent made fun of me for naming my Velogames team 'Neal's team', I came up with League of Average Cyclist for the Versus League.  I can guess Bill Haynes is Bhanynes' Sketchy Riders; Brett Daniels- Rocket Man's Rocket Men; Greg Cornelius- Cornmeister; Stephanie Bachman- Pink Ladies.  The rest are a wild guess for me although Pulling you up Willeo would probably be Brent Snodgrass, possibly Doug Bachman.  Need More Cowbell sounds like Brian O'Neill, but I do not think he is in the league.  DFL sounds like Doug's humor, but who knows.  Soooo, maybe you guys can fill me in on who is who.

rookie move today...did not move up my riders and lost out on 75 points.  Oi...and it is tight this year.  I did a bad job picking riders.

Yeah, I lost out on all of Geraint Thomas' 200 points because I was in Madison and did not go over my riders for the first few days.  I did a better job picking the Velogames riders.

Clearly!

I on the other hand have not looked at the Versus one in the past week, so I'm sure that is horrendous...

Note to self: In 2011, just pick all the sprinters for the VS game.  It is the easiest way to pick up tons of points even if it is a limited number of stages that you score in.
