It worked last week. This week, however, after powering it all night (and getting the "charging" happy words) it wouldn't power up. Same thing when I tried using a different power source. Anyone know if there's a way to reset or jumpstart the little guy? I want to try all options before returning it to Costco.

Thanks.

Q. How can I reset an Edge or Forerunner 205/305 unit that has locked up?

A. If your device has locked up during use, you can reset your unit by pressing the "Mode"(reset/lap) and "Power" buttons at the same time. In addition, please make sure that the device has the latest software version available. To update the software, please use the following link:

Thanks, y'all. So, without doing anything, I tried it this morning and it fired up just long enough to give me hope. I took it to work and charged it from that computer's usb port. As of right now, it's alive and well. I've uploaded the data to the website, logged it on BT and will set it aside until Sunday's big brick. Not sure the whys or hows, but glad I didn't have to start the return process.

There are quite a few Garmin 305 threads out there. My 305 dies last year about two weeks before my 1st IM. Turned out that the top and bottom pieces of mine had started to separate and sweat made its way inside and corroded one of the batter contacts. Hopefully, just a hard reset fixed yours.
