Sunny
Total Time = 1h 54m 3s
Overall Rank = 280/418
Age Group = F25-29
Age Group Rank = 14/24
Pre-race routine:

wake up stupid early, eat some oatmeal, banana and coffee in the car.
Event warmup:

the all terrain 20 minute hike to the swim start counts, right?
Swim
  • 13m 19s
  • 650 meters
  • 02m 03s / 100 meters
Comments:

i seeded myself front and center of my wave. i never do that. then, i settled in right between 2 girls and drafted for the majority of the swim. i never do that either. it was awesome.
What would you do differently?:

last year i trained a lot more on swimming - usually 3 days a week and for much longer sets. it shows that i'm not doing as well this year. i should swim more.
Transition 1
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Pretty good T1 for me. Apparently pretty good for anyone - 3rd fastest in AG.
What would you do differently?:

NOTHING!
Bike
  • 1h 05m 15s
  • 18.8 miles
  • 17.29 mile/hr
Comments:

This was now my 4th time on this bike course, and I still have a minor moment of doubt before the final climb. I don't know why. It's slow and tedious, but I can do it. I've never done this well on this course, and I had a BLAST. Was over too quickly. Never thought I'd place so high on the BIKE of all things...
What would you do differently?:

Stop freaking and just RIDE!!
Transition 2
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

This is like my fastest T2 EVARRRR. But 16/24.
Run
  • 33m 16s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Had a head on collision early on in the run when some dude missed his turn, got passed by a caveman, and got told by a teenage boy on the course that "the girls are just so much nicer than the boys!" This was an amazing and enjoyable run, especially after Tidewater.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder. I knew I had a mile left and waited till a half-mile to really push. I had energy left at the end and should have hammered it.
Post race
Warm down:

Guzzle powerade, try to eat barbecue, go HOME. I didn't even want to hang out, I was exhausted.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My swim training, my own brain getting in my way!

Event comments:

I love this race, and I love RMS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that team in training was on the course this year. They gave me quite a boost on the hill. But I do NOT love the new timing company...I want to know how my individual events match up. I suppose I can do it by hand...but isn't that part of what I pay for???

(Fine I went back, uploaded everything into Excel, and figured out my placings cause I'm a nerd.)
