Evergreen Lake Sprint Triathlon : Official Thread

Sweet.  Interesting configuration.  Instead of doing a separate bike course for the Sprint, they just have the Sprint folks doing the Oly distance.  going to be quite a LONG ride.

I also just looked up the bike course on MapMyRide from the race website.  This is gonna be a SUPER fast ride.  Only a total of 279 feet of elevation gain.  And you do that all the way out to the turn around so you get to go down that the whole way back.  Not that it is THAT much of an advantage with it being that flat.  I'm gonna like this one.

And I just looked up the run, too.  Only 75 feet of gain for the Sprint run.  This is gonna be smokin' fast.

Current forecast for the race is 86 and sunny and potential winds of ~8mph out of the SW.  I'll take it.

Looks like the temp has gone up.  Now they are predicting 90+.  Gonna be a hot one out there boys and girls.  Wonder what the water temp is like?

Sure does.  Unless they get some good strong rains in the next day or so, that is gonna be some pee warm water.

Sure does.  Unless they get some good strong rains in the next day or so, that is gonna be some pee warm water.

no rain in the forecast right now. Man.....this is going to be my first Oly and I was confident on the swim. But now, I'm nervous knowing I can't wear a wetsuit.

Dude, you have done the distance in the pool, right?  That was without a wetsuit, right?  So it is all in your head.  No big shake.  You will be fine.

Not really, I normally swim 4x400's with 30 seconds rest between in the pool. I don't expect a stellar swim anyway cause I suck. But I figured I'd use the wetsuit and just float a couple times along the way to compose myself. I swam 1 1/2 miles at the lakefront a few weeks ago like this and it took 50 minutes. Your probably right though, this is more mental than anything.

Yep.  All mental.

You can do it.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.  Just keep swimming and next thing you know you will be out of the water and onto that long, hot, flat bike ride.

Didn't matter.  It was still smoking hot out there.  88 degrees by 9:30.
