Subject: First Triathlon?
Hey everyone! New to this forum and in need of a little advice

I am looking to do a sprint for my first tri and I am kind of hesitant about doing the Chicago Triathlon cause I have heard the crowds are ridiculous and it's not good for first timers. What would be a good sprint for a newbie like myself?

I am in the burbs but willing to travel to the city. I was originally going to do the Harbor Lights for my first event until I heard it was canceled. End of month would be nice.

What distance?  you can always sign up for the supersprint at the chicago tri.  it's held the day before.

Sprint. Not looking to do a super sprint, too short. I think I am going to do South Shore Tri and/or Bangs Lake Multisport Festival. Everyone seems to rave about RAM events on the boards and whenever I talk to fellow triathletes.

I concur about RAM events.  Anything Paul is involved with is always top drawer.

Schaumburg next weekend is supposed to be a good event for beginners.  And August 1st is Glenview which is supposed to be another good one for beginners.

When are you hoping to do your first tri?

By months end. I just registered for south shore tri and really excited about it! I am thinking about registering for Bangs also but I think I may wait until after South Shore.
