Swim
Comments: I sighted less since it was a simple course, but I did follow someone off course for a little while until I corrected and came back. The lake is shallow and I'm afraid of fish, which is why I stuck with the swim leaders. What would you do differently?: Great swim for me overall. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: This is actually a great bike time for me. My pre-race fix of my bike computer failed, so I didn't have MPH or distance information, but the two lap course helped me out on this. There were a few hills, but the first one on the course was fine in low gear with high cadence, and the second one is right after a nice downhill. I just left my bike in a high gear and stood for the second climb, which worked out. What would you do differently?: I worried that I left too much on the bike, but since it was so short, I think this was a good level of intensity. My run was great, so I think this was a great distance and a great time. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Great 5K time for me...my best ever is only 29 minutes, so a 33 on a hilly triathlon course is fantastic. Apparently everyone else there was a much better runner...oh well. What would you do differently?: I need to increase my speed on a 5K, but I think the pace that I kept during this race was about as good as I was able to do. I definitely almost felt sick when I sprinted to the finish. Post race
Warm down: Milled around, changed clothes, got a race shirt! What limited your ability to perform faster: General fitness, which is good - I can only improve that. Last updated: 2010-06-27 12:00 AM

Sang to my iPod through Hartford rush hour traffic, arrived early, tried to fix my bike from the last race, temporarily succeeded, milled around.
Met Bob for a quick run, which was nice...it seemed to help.
