Lurch - 2010-08-02 11:58 AM The reservoir hotline is reporting a temperature of 76F!  Fingers crossed for a no wetsuit race.

nothing in the rules saying you MUST wear a wetsuit.

StMaas - 2010-08-02 5:38 PM There are almost 3 dozen BTer's registered for the race or volunteering.  How about a group photo before the start? Meet by the T2 bike entrance in transition 10 minutes before close, or something?
 

Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wetsuit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wetsuit at their own discretion, provided, however that participants who wears a wetsuit within such temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Above 84 degrees, wetsuits are prohibited.

4.4 Wet suits. And I hear from most if it is close or questionable the water temp measured magically goes to 77.5 degrees. I would put money on wetsuits being legit for the race.

islandertek - 2010-08-04 11:37 AM TONS of Newbie Questions!!! This is my first tri or race of any kind so I am a little nervous as this race is coming up on this Sunday and I have no prior experience (and have an ankle/foot injury...which is just my luck)!! 

Do I have to wear a shirt under my wetsuit for the swim...if wetsuits are permitted?? I read that you must a wear a shirt at all times....is that just for the bike leg???......and can I go shirtless for the run if it is just for the bike leg?? I also read in this thread that there is tons of areas for water, so should I bring my own water bottles for my bike and run? I am planning on borrowing a fuel belt from a friend for the run?? Last one....should I bring my own gel packs/nutrition to the race or will there be vendors at the race providing this?? I know a lot  these will be answered at check in, but wanted to prepare before then just in case!!

Do I need all of the reflectors on my bike for road safety (front handle bars and back seat post). I took the reflectors off my wheels already.

How do I mount my bib number to my bike??? Do I need to purchase some expensive contraption or is that provided?? I just have a seat bag that I could possibly pin it to.

Sorry for all the questions I guess I'm just a goober newb!! Ha Haaa!!
