Pre-race routine:

Woke up on time (5:30) this time. I had a small cup of juice, a bowl of oatmeal, and then checked and rechecked all my gear. Drove the bike course and headed to the transition area.

Event warmup:

Short run in the parking area and a light swim.

Post race
Warm down:

Visiting with family, friends, and playing in the lake.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The course is so beautiful that I really just wanted to race for fun. Didn't stay mentally tough. Not always a bad thing.

Event comments:

I really enjoy how much effort this group goes to to make this a super event. Tons of informative emails. An informative official program. Swim clinics, driving the course before the race and their first timers meeting that anyone can go to. Did I mention that they served hot dogs and lemonade to EVERYONE (including spectators) afterwards and during the awards ceremony. Great race friendly people.
