Event warmup:

Sat down at a picnic table and chatted with other athletes. Headed down the beach to the start. Noticed I didn't have my goggles. Crap!!! Ran back to the restroom- thought I left them on the hook on the door. Nope. Ran back to the picnic table- whew they were there. I think all together it was probably a mile jog. Plus the extra heart rate increase from panicing.
Swim
  • 18m 56s
  • 547 yards
  • 03m 28s / 100 yards
Comments:

Could not get into a rythm. I placed myself infront to practice being in a larger crowd for next weekend. I was constantly bumping or tryin to avoid people that I never got into a great stroke. I'll have to navigate better and try to get a clearing. Swim time includes the almost mile run up to transition.
What would you do differently?:

Try to break clear. Not lay may goggles down and forget them.
Transition 1
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

I took wet suit off before the mile jog up to transition. I also swam with my bike jersey on and clipped on a race belt instead of trying to put on a shirt when wet. This worked much better.
Bike
  • 39m 3s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 19.10 mile/hr
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

For some reason my feet were really sweating- I guess it was just hotter than normal. Socks were hard to get on.
Run
  • 28m 50s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 18s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt like led- Not surprised at my split. I did not eat a gel - due to being over fueled at the last sprint I did. I didn't take into consideration the heat. I would have benefitted from the boost, and probably should have popped 2 more enduralytes. It was hot.

Event comments:

The only bad thing about this race it the run from the water back to the transition.

Nice job!  Would this be considered a quadrathlon??  That long run to transition after the swim is crazy...wish they would relocate that TA.

2nd AG finish is great.
