Pre-race routine:

Woke up late and threw the kids into the van. We ended getting there about the time I wanted to. Did the normal stuff: have my number written and set up the transition.

The transition area was really crowded so, we were allowed to put stuff wherever we wanted. That worked out good for me as I leaned my bike against a trailer and had all the space I could possibly want.
Event warmup:

Warm-up? Well, I tried. That water was awfully cold, but I managed to swim around a bit. As cold as it was, I could see forever and I was really looking forward to this swim. I don't think I've ever written that about a race before.

Comments:

I got caught in the bunch coming around the bouy. I should have known it when I saw a whole line of people switching to breaststroke. Went slightly off coures on the way back in and missed the boat ramp. I remmeberd the race director saying we could exit the water "any way you like" so I just climbed out on the dock. Boy that was tough!

But then I looked around and saw something I'm not used to seeing - THE PACK!. How cool.
What would you do differently?:

I'm very happy with this swim. I could have navigated better on the way back in. I also should have slid to the outside of the turn to avoid messing up my rhythm.
