Sub 13:30 would be a-mazin'!
Age Group - 25-29

I'll run faster if I have a BTer that doesn't mind chatting during the marathon.  Don't worry, I'm not a Bob Stocks wannabe so your ears won't be bleeding by the end!  I'd love help holding a 9 min pace!

To finish under the 17 hour limit with a big fat smile (any time quicker than that is icing on the cake)

I have two goals. The first is to deliver overall good race execution while second pushing myself to my limit.

Swim: stay focused, sight well (no extra 200 yards), pace well. 1:25 or so would be fine, but beating 1:20 would be awesome.

Bike: don't get sick, pace well and finish strong - don't go out in a blaze of glory just to whimper along at mile 100. Having never ridden the course, I'm thinking 6:15 to 6:45 will be the result. Only after the race will I know if I paced it well and gave an awesome time (for me).

Run: run the run, finish strong. My last two IM runs have been 4:30, and I haven't been run focused, so a 4:15 would be awesome.

Time goals: I want to beat 12:52.

I find that the faster guys seem to post more accurate goal times (some of their actual times are true to the first digit of the minute!) while many of the slower ones' goals tend to be more optimistic. This cannot be attributed to experience alone because the faster guys do not necessarily seem to have more experiences. I began to think that this apparent correlation may have more to do with their ability to assess him/herself objectively.
