Transition 1
  • 02m 36s
Comments:

Went well
What would you do differently?:

Probably should have been 45 sec faster
Bike
  • 2h 42m 4s
  • 56 miles
  • 20.73 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike went well started raining near Sturgon Bay, total of about 40 miles in the rain, made for some tricky cornering at times.
Transition 2
  • 02m 3s
Comments:

Went well, could lose 15 seconds here. My water bottle fell out of my fanny pack after exiting T2. Pitched the fanny pack when I ran past Suz.
Run
  • 1h 56m 57s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Enjoyed, the last hill climb really, really hurt. On the final 1/4 mile down hill towards the finish both of my hammys cramped up (to close for this), just about fell, needed to stretch for a few, then was lucky enough to finish without any more cramps.
What would you do differently?:

Get in more runs the 4 weeks leading up to race. My run training was very week before this race.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked and ice bath

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Slacked on run training

Event comments:

The best 70.3 I have done to date as far as being organized and having a great transition setup, I don't like the two transition set up some races are doing.

Race was delayed 30 minutes for lighting

Getting a PR at a race you DNF'd the year before is Suweet!

You should, a really well run race with very nice scenery, and super volunteer support. Sean Ryan runs a great two race weekend! Get this in transition they have bins full of iced bottled water and gatorade to slam down before the race and slap into your bike. They also have suit strippers!

The water can be cold and rough though. Last year it was 64* with 3 foot swells, and I didn't have much fun, at all.
