Hueston Woods Tri - August 29th (Page 2)

Hated the shallowness of the water!  We had to run/wade at the least triple the usual - very draining.  I may skip this one next year because I hated the swim part so much (usually my favorite and my strength).  I thought the bike route was interesting.  Not so much the usual smaller rolling hills, but seemed like longer more gradual hills (except for that first, coming up from the lake :-)  I'm weak on hills right now so this was not a good bike for me at all.  The run was fun with that hill in the woods.  Nice shade!  PB for me on the run part (10:38min/mile pace, still slow but waaaaaay faster than my novice running season last year)

Next up for me - Cincinnati Half Marathon in October, nice and flat :-)

I'll be moving my next two months training to 6 runs/ 1 bike/ 1 swim til the 1/2M is over, then figure out off season.  Probably go bike intensive since that performance is ugly...

I'm glad I got to meet one BT person.  It was fun, reading the results and checking the one real name I knew from here.  DavidShmaus - great job!

I haven't seen posted results yet?  Has anyone else?

Hey David,

I just found the race results.  We did darn good for a couple old farts (40-44) on our first time out.  My biggest conclusion, which I knew when I got out of the water (and had a pretty good idea before getting in), is that I can't freakin' swim.  Oh well....w/ my poor technique it makes for great anaerobic workout.

Would be fun to get together and train one of these days.
