Subject: Any other Big Guys Out There? Need Help!

I am new to tri and I'm looking to buy some clothing for an upcoming tri.  I was wondering if there were any other big guys out there that have found certain brands or styles that fit/work better for them.

I am a big guy.  I played left tackle for my college football team.  I decided to try tri to get in shape and see what I can do.  I'm 15 lbs down in a month and a half and currently stand 6'2" 260 lbs.  I have legs like tree trunks and I'm looking to buy a pair of tri shorts.  I'm thinking the 2XU Comp Tri shorts as they are one of the few that I've been able to find in a XXL.  Any help or insight on what you guys think is greatly appreciated.

Also, do I need pockets in my shorts?  I'm thinking that's for longer distances and I'm planning on sticking to the sprint distance.  ???????

thanks

Haven't tried them yet but why not call Avero. They make their things right here and will custom make it for no additional money.

Look at Aevero, but also look at Pearl Izumi. I have tri shorts from them and they seem to run big. (I am 5'9 238 with a 38-40 in waist to give you an idea)

Also, for tri shorts, check Sugoi.  I'm 6', and 240ish.  Their XL are almost too big for me.  I was given them as a gift, and first in XXL, and I had to take that back for an XL, and really should have dropped to L.

For the record, 10+ years ago I was a L guard for my college football team at 297), so I know where you're coming from.

Really Sugoi??? I have looked at some of their tops (trying to find something to fit s guy with a 48 chest) and it has been next to nothing that I have seen fits. The shorts, I will try since that is easy.

X2  - Sugoi seems like they run small for me...tops and shorts

Pearl Izumi shorts worked for me...

I think a Zoot XXL one piece will fit you. Craft XXL is pretty big too.

I don't think DeSoto makes a XXL suit anymore but you can get a top and shorts, though I think the XXL shorts might be a little small on you.

I'm 6'2" and 270 and went with Aero Tech tri shorts. So far like them a lot but first real race is this weekend.
