Interesting.  I was the one who initiated this whole stink about the jackets, spoke with Andrew and the VP of Merchandise...

...and I still have yet to get my new jacket.  It's not like it takes very long to ship from Tampa to Sarasota...

The new ones are better, not what we were promised but better...

I have sent a couple of emails and have heard nothing.  I plan to return my in the mail soon.

I e-mailed them this morning asking for a shipping label and this is what I got back:

Hello,
We would like to apologize for all the confusion and concern over the CDA Finisher jackets. We will be offering a replacement jacket to any customer who originally purchased the jacket on Finisher day, June 27, 2011.
Please look out for more information either via e-blast or on the Ironman CDA website. There will be specific instructions and information on how to go about requesting these jackets. We expect that this information will be released in the next week or two. Please note that the replacement jackets will take time to order, produce and ship.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we strive to meet the high demand and volume of inquiries on the issue.

Thanks for your continued interest and support of Ironman!

This is the email I got today:

Dear Athletes,

Due to the recent feedback regarding the Coeur d'Alene finisher jackets, we will be offering replacement embroidered jackets, at no cost, to athletes who originally purchased the 2011 jackets.

Athletes requesting a replacement finisher jacket must print and fill out the form below and submit it to orders@ironmanstore.com with "CDA Finisher Jacket Re-Order" in the subject line.The deadline for submitting the order is 4 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.  Jackets will begin shipping September 30, 2011.

Thanks for the link. I filled it out and sent it in, I'm not holding my breath though. How long did they leave that link up, because it's no longer on their website and wouldn't be noticeable if you weren't specifically looking for it.

Ok, dumb blonde moment: to those who filled out the order form for a new jacket, what did you put on the line of "order number"?

To those asking about whether we need to send the first jacket back, I e-mailed them to ask and am awaiting a response.  I'll update when I hear back.

I sent the old jacket back today via UPS.  I emailed and wanted to verify that the new jackets have the embroidery on front and back.  They do!

So did you just eat the shipping cost when you returned the original jacket?

For now.  I am hoping they will reimburse me.

Interesting, mine looks the same on the front but is blank on the back.

Got mine last week as well.  Looks just like that one.  The examples they had at IMCDA had a big Mdot at the bottom of the back but I'm OK with that not being there.

I heard you get to keep the defective one also, so if you haven't sent it in...don't!
