Taper Week!!  Everybody ready to go?!!

I've ridden the bike course, but has anyone seen the run course?  I assume since it runs along the lake it's pretty much flat.

I'm ready to go as much as I can be.

I have run the run course it is a little hilly.  I found the routes on www.mapmyrun.com.

Swim = READY!

Bike = READY!

Run = not so much.....

I did run a pain free MILE this morning....yeah, one stupid mile. I fear the 6mi run will irritate my IT band something awe-full! If it starts acting up, I may just walk most of the run. We shall see!

If anyone wants to say HI, I will be the guy with the ORANGE LeMonde bike (orange bar tape, orange striped tires, orange lower frame...I LIKE ORANGE!) lol

Quiet Group.....So Did the event live up to the Cost?   I ride the Elkhorn portion of the bike course weekly so I know that is a great ride but how was the run?

The run was pretty hard as well. It was a good race, but there needed to be more and better post race food. For what you paid, it lived up to its billing with all the practice swims and how well it was run. The expo and the food were not up to par.

Sounds like typical growing pains.  I hope they take the feedback that they get and put it to good use. I would like to jump in next year.

The expo was just sad.
The transition area was good.
Swim start was not planned well. To clustered and a 90deg turn 20yds out was a bad idea. CHAOS!
Bike was all hills, but pretty and smooth. Great intersection control from the cops.
Volunteers were great, with good aid station placement and Hammer Gels / Heed / Water about every mile on the run. (I went home with more gels than I had pre race) lol
The run was brutal after all the hills on the bike leg. Lots of walking for me....this year

All in all, it was a good event. If they are a little more organized for pre race and post race, it will be great. It would have been nice for them to make sure EMS was there before herding all of us down to the start area. As it was, we had to stand around with nothing to drink, and no port-o-potties to use for about 25min. That was a little silly.

Registration opened up today for 2011.  Oly and new sprint category.  Bad news is that it is via Active so that will add in more fees.
