bwingate - 2010-08-02 4:27 PM Camping in a campground or backpacking?  If its backpacking, you're probably totally out of luck.  Girls don't like "going" in the woods.

I like "going" in nature. Love it. So much, in fact, sometimes I go outside and chuck a whiz in my back yard, just for the he11 of it.

And nothing better than taking your morning constitutional out amongst the trees, surveying the forest from your throne, watching as eagles soar above the sparkling blue waters.

you just made my day.

most girls don't like going in the woods?  is it 1950?

I don't know any girls who "like" it... tolerate maybe. But prefer it or like it? No way.
I will pee behind a bush if the situation necessitates, but can't say I'd ever willingly pewp outdoors.

So much for sharing positive experiences, without pressure, and appreciating the differences.

I spent years wishing that my wife would take better care of herself in terms of health & fitness as well as self-care and stress. (She sacrifices too much of herself for her job and has unrealistic expectations -- -all of which take a toll.)

The instant I stopped trying, kept myself willing to share, stayed supportive, and tried to lead by example.... well, now she is asking me to go to the gym with her, and we are in a weight loss competition together.

Ha the only reason men "like" it is cause they can write their names.

Never had a problem with going in the woods when backpacking or camping or hiking or any other of a myriad of reasons for being outdoors.

No need to be jealous, if you buy one of these!

I just went on a 5 day backpacking trip in Yosemite.  "Going" in the woods is not something I particularly enjoy, but it's a small price to pay for spending time in "real" wilderness (as opposed to more developed campsites).  However, even the backcountry in Yosemite has a lot of visitors in the summer, and in some places where a lot of people camp, it can be difficult to find a place where you're not in danger of someone walking up on you.  At one point, I thought I had hiked far enough away from camp, only to have someone walk up over the ridge I was facing just as I was finishing up.  Needless to say it was a bit awkward, probably more for him than for me!

I LOVE camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and nature in general.  Just like with triathlon, some people have that internal desire and some don't.  For those who don't, I can't imagine it would be any easier to change their opinion than it would be to change mine.
