Thanks for the congrats.  The race itself was great, up to the point where my left knee decided it didn't want to participate anymore, which happened to be around mile 9 of the run.  I decided I wasn't going to let that stop me, though - mind over matter, if you don't mind it don't matter...right?!!  I broke the 6 hour mark that I was shooting for, so I'm happy with that.

Thanks for the shout outs on the course - there were 2 guys on bikes cheering me on and unfortunately I have no idea who you were!!

Lilbigjohn,  you did a great job and it was awesome to see you out on the run - gave me a spurt of adrenalin when I heard the Go Greyhounds from you!  I was on my second lap at that point and all I could think about was keeping my pace up so you didn't lap me!!

Nice work, Coop. Heard it was a little...er...wet?

Great that the swim was flat, and that everyone kept the rubber side down on the bike.  That makes all the difference.

Talked to my buddy Brian tonight...he went 5:30'ish, his wife went 6:22 for her first HIM.

Nice work to the lot of you knuckleheads!!

Coop, it was Jeremy Hagerman and I who were the crazies chasing you and Jon around on the bikes.  We decided to come over and cheer you 2 GH teammates on as a surprise.  I've met you out at ILRA a few times and Jon, well, we just wanted to give him all the motivation he needed with his lofty goals for this race.  You both did great, we felt that pain a couple of weeks ago at Racine and knew a little on course encouragement couldn't hurt, thus the bikes.  Plus it was cool being out there cheering all the other participant on on the run in places they least expected.

Race report to follow tomorrow.  Wet?  Yes, beforehand, but luckily it dried up by the time my wave (the last wave) went off.  Coop, I feel your pain, my hip right decided to quit at mile 2.5 of the run, which is why I missed my initial goal of 4:45.  As far as my lofty goal of 4:30, well, that went out the door when my hip quit on me on my last 2 months training runs at mile 8.

Oh, and huge thanks to Craig and Jeremy coming out and cheering us on.  It was a great suprise and boost when I saw you sitting in front of my transition area cheering me on!  BTW, I still want that sandwich you offered me at T1!

Well, I certainly appreciate your guys cheers.  My vision was a bit fuzzy at that point and with your helmets and glasses on I couldn't really tell who it was - but man was I surprised when I heard my name!  Thanks again guys!!
