Welcome back Teamies. Sorry I haven't been around much, but I have been having the top of my ear cut off (Basal Cell Carcinoma). Go back on Wed. so they can see if I need skin grafts etc...Would have been much better if I had it taken care of 2 years ago OR even better SUNSCREEN!!!!!

I'm in again. Still out of town without an accurate scale, but I will be home tomorrow night, so I will get back to you all Tuesday morning. I'm guestimating that I am somewhere between 168-166. Goal weight for end of month 162.

The sucky thing is I can't do anything that raises my blood pressure for a while. I do a few pushups and squats, but nothing real...sucks.

I'm in again. I didn't make much progress last month....

Starting weight - 144. My ultimate goal is to break 140, so I'm getting down to the end, and those last few pounds are hanging on for dear life... I'm looking to drop 2 lbs this month, down to 142.

I'm ready for a new month. Ended last month with 196.8 and working for a goal of 192 for August. Its a new month, I have a new goal, I'm working on a new plan for August and I'm ready to go.

Right now at 231, goal is 220 for the end of the month. A bit aggressive, but I plan on making it.

I'm in again, although I'm a little confused about the "again" part.  I can't believe it's August. 

Sunscreen?  What's sunscreen?  It's kinda funny, but I never did anything outdoorsy for the first forty-some years of my life and have in the last ten.  Have I built up an immunity? 

I didn't make any progress in July.  I will have 130 as a goal for August.  Again.

Yes Leah it is again and 130 again and yes use sunscreen again and again. Hell I grew up on the beach and I always thought I was immune to this crap, but I guess age trumps all...sigh.

Skin cancer is no joke! I've had Melanoma so taking care of your skin is very important. Glad they took care of it though.

As for me, just late last week I finally squeaked under 200 and have been remaining there the last several days instead of fluctuating over/under that 200 mark, so that makes me happy. BUT now my back is giving me problems so working out is pretty much OFF this week and I'll really need to focus on my food intake to get me through it. Totally sucks. Here are my goals for the month though!

8/3: 198
8/19: 192 (this will keep me on track with the personal goals I've been working on...it's a stretch though in this time frame).
8/31: 191

I'm new and would love to join...actually having to answer to someone (even if they are cyber people I will never meet!) might actually make me stick to my training schedule and lose weight.

I'm 5'9-1/2" and weigh between 167 and 165 on any given day. I'd love to be down to 162 (or better yet 160...reasonable goal 162 though) by the end of August.

Hey guys,

I'm new to the team and I just wanted to know, for those who struggle to lose, or are classic
yo-yo dieters, what is your downfall?

With me it's beer. (no preachers please)

At about 110 calories a go I have 3 or 4 on a Thursday, about 10 on a Friday, 20 on a Saturday and about 6 to eight on a Sunday afternoon.

These are all social events. At the pub with friends, at a friends house or Sunday arvo barbie at my place.

Then not a drop until Thursday again.

Now I'm quite aware of the fact that if I didn't drink I wouldn't have a weight problem, but I wouldn't have a social life either. And don't tell me to get new friends because I enjoy it the way it is. It's the Aussie way of life.

Anyway, back to the topic.

What is your downfall?

pipsyboy- Haha. No judgement here. Sounds normal to me.

My big downfall is definately fast food. I like how it tastes and sometimes it's just soooo much easier than making myself get organized and prepare something myself.

Also, I HAVE to track all my eating. I'm a pro at BLTs (bites, licks, and tastes). I'll eat the 2 leftover chicken nuggets on my kid's plate, just take a bite of a brownie, etc. But it all adds up.

I'm down to having to lose the last 20 lbs and it's really hard (the weight came off so much easier when I was heavier). But I finally fit into my skinny clothes (AKA pre-pregnancy clothes), so I guess I'm ok if it takes me the rest of this year to lose the weight. You know slow & steady...ugh
