north america climate

i'm new to this and was wondering if anyone could offer feedback on training climates and cities that may be better than others. miami or seattle? it may be obvious, but is it better training in one climate more than another? i noticed alot of australians are at the top of the sport so i would imagine location has some influence on that? thanks.
