Pre-race routine:

Awake at 5:30, Usual breakfast, arrive 45 minutes before race.
Event warmup:

Lite run, practice bike mount/dismount, gatorade prime (gave me gas).

Goggles kept filling with water, felt pretty good most of the way out, tired back in. One swin prior to the race.
What would you do differently?:

Get in more swim practice and test my goggles before starting.

Not as fast as last year, but, I'm 8 pounds heavier and didn't have to run last year's race, so, overall I'm OK with my pace. Was passed by two riders early in the race and caught both of them before the end.
What would you do differently?:

Come in lighter, work on cleaner shifting, have a pro tune the bike up before the race.

Comments:

Very short run between entrace and rack, so, stopping to get off the bike didn't hurt much. Didn't have one of my feet out of my shoe to get off the bike. Evrything else was quick.
What would you do differently?:

Practice dismounts a little more.

Comments:

Didn't wear sunglasses which was a good decision. Felt aweful for the first half of the run, cramping, legs didn't want to go. Felt very good the last mile or so. Good enough to have a pretty good conversaion with another runner and make a pass in that mile.
What would you do differently?:

Run more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More prep = faster race.

Improved from last year. Starts were on time. Swim course was a more legitamate distance.
