Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30, showered, ate a peanut butter & banana sandwich and had some coffee.Left about 5:15 got to Transition about 5:30. Set everything up and walked and stretched. Visited port o' john and headed to swim start.
Event warmup:

Walked and stretched. Had a gel pack about 20 minutes before start.
Swim
  • 11m 23s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 17s / 100 meters
Comments:

Since CapTex I've only swam four times. This was still my best time per 100. Still having trouble making whole swim w/out breast stroking some of it.
What would you do differently?:

Get more time in the water.
Transition 1
  • 03m 13s
Comments:

T1 time lumped in with bike time. Times are according to my watch. I was very winded after swim so I walked through transition.
What would you do differently?:

Really get in more swim training.
Bike
  • 40m 8s
  • 14 miles
  • 20.93 mile/hr
Comments:

Results lumped in with T1. Again, time is according to my watch. If correct, this is the best I have done on the bike. I really liked this course. The last couple of miles were really rough, though. Thought I had a flat and kept looking down at my tires and shadow.
What would you do differently?:

Still practice swimming more
Transition 2
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

Whew, legs felt rubbery just off the bike. Slowly jogged to rack and got helmet off and hat on. Still riding with running shoes. Maybe next year for bike shoes and clips.
What would you do differently?:

not much
Run
  • 29m 45s
  • 3.5 miles
  • 08m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

First mile kept a decent pace. Sped up for the second mile and got passed by another runnier in my AG. Tried to keep him in site but I had to slowed it down for about half mile. I tried to kick it back in for the final mile. I'm happy with my time and pace.
What would you do differently?:

Probably practice more on my swim.
Post race
Warm down:

Water and Gatorade. Mild heart attack when an ice cold towel was put on my shoulders. Walked around and stretched until I found my wife and child. Ate some food and waited for results.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Very little swim practice and no OWS. I feel I am getting better at this Tri thing.

Event comments:

Only my third triathlon. I was really impressed with the way this was run.
