Subject: RE: recomend the right frame size.... Here's the unfortunate answer... you should be on a frame designated somewhere between 50 and 64 cm... yeah, I know, not too helpful, but still true.
Seriously, you cannot buy a frame based upon some body measurements only. These are only a part of the equation. Your riding style, terrain, length of rides needs to be take in consideration. Your flexibility and core strength changes completely the fit...
Yes, you can gamble and buy a bike without getting fitted, but unfortunately, the chance is that you'll buy an ill-fitting bike and you will be in pain and hate riding after just a short while. This means either or two things... you stop riding all together or you buy a new bike that fits... either way, you wasted a boat load of money. Getting fitted can save you money.
To the point of the 54 or 56 you pointed out in the post... each manufacturer measures the frames differently and the geometry changes from manufacturer to manufacturer... This means that a 54cm Cervelo, Cannondale and Colnago will be vastly different and nothing a like. |
