Swim
Comments: Got lost during course. Seemed further then actually was. Did not sight enough. Constantly hitting brushing up against people. Non wet suit legal. Buoyancy difference, put a damper on time. What would you do differently?: Practice in open water more. With out wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Very beat after swim Due to run/sprint to Transition Zone. Hopped on bike ready to go. What would you do differently?: Run faster Prepare better. Bike
Comments: 2 miles in to the race Chain fell off. Braze on Front derailleur came loose. Therefore Jamming the derailleur into the large chain ring. Happened 3 times Had to continuously beat derailleur up to get it to Not jam. Mile 9. Chain fell off jammed in in between rear chain stay and Small chain ring. Caused Chain to snap. This caused me to walk 3 miles back to a turn around point. Then also cause me to lose time for them to fix the chain and adjust front and rear derailleurs. After they connected the chain i could not use two gears due to chain being too short. Lost my riding shades. And my aero bottle straw. My average uphill was around 15-17mph. Downhill i was averaging 35mph-37mph There is no reason i could not have finished this in a hour. What would you do differently?: Ride the crap out of the bike and not stuff it in the back of a cramped compartment of a car. Ride it there or use a bike rack. Transition 2
Comments: After pushing 30+mph for the past 6 miles Lost track of how fast bike was actually going. Jumped off while the bike was still doing 10+mph. Almost wiped out. Had a small child laugh at me as i almost fell and died. Jabbed my left leg, my left quad hurt along with my knee from it. What would you do differently?: make sure i slow down enough Run
Comments: Run, start initial cramp. Speed poor. Due to heat and leg pain. Pushed as fast as i could for as long, and to walk every 2 miles for a water station then a run again. The dirt trail i was not used to. no way to keep proper pace no one running close to me. Run was extremely slow. What would you do differently?: Work on running faster. Post race
